It was an interesting event of music and chef tastings for good of the choir. Austin Girls Choir scouted for a diverse set of women involved in cooking and music and brought them together to be part of their “Women Who Cook” benefit event. They were celebrating women who cook both musically and literally, and as they said this evening was a feast for the senses!
The event was hosted by the lovely radio host Barbara Jo Skorude of KGSR- FM and featured musical offerings from Lex Land and and Erin Ivey and of course Austin girls choir. The culinary guests featured were Michelle Doyon from Michelles patisserie, Allison Jenkins from Say laV/LaV, Jaynie Buckingham of cutie Pies, Sylvia Haisey of Beets café, and me representing my website hotsweetspicyrecipes.com 😉

Thank you Jennifer for inviting and featuring me in your event. Enjoyed a musical evening and networking with other women in the Food scene in Austin and of course loved all the praise for the savory spicy potato Samosas.
Michelle, I and my family loved both your cakes Chocolate Baileys and Dulce de Leche Cake and will drop by soon to check out your patisserie. Allison Jenkins, I am still amazed what you did with dates in your walnut date cake with blue cheese mousse and roasted pearl onions, loved the deliciousness and the presentation. Also liked your spiced carrot soup with creme fraiche and chives; looking forward to eat at your French restaurant when it opens. Jaynie enjoyed your pies, sad I missed your pecan version. And Sylvia, it’s interesting how you make raw food taste good;)
Erin enjoyed your ‘Dream Weather’ songs and French lullaby, wishing you great success to you and your band. Enjoyed Lex Lands performance and the sweet voices of the Austin Girls Choir.
Lastly have to say looking forward to connect with all those who loved my Samosa’s and wanted seconds, thirds, fourths and fifths;) A lovely evening indeed.
