Java Dive Café and Organic Restaurant – Review

We have been to this place for coffee and wifi before, but Sunday Brunch was something we decided to try out one lazy Sunday. The place has grown over years, added more items on menu and increased in size. It used to be a small coffee shop in lakeway and expanded with rising popularity for the organic menu it offers, besides a good brew of coffee.

The Sunday brunch offered different styles of eggs, waffles and pancakes.  The menu also offers gluten free options, besides the many organic items. We had to pre- order and pay at the counter and seat ourselves at any of the many tables in or outside the café. We ordered the Denver Omelette, Italian Delight Omelette, Huevos Rancheros, and a kid’s pancake with whipped cream and blueberries. And for the end we ordered the Mocha Java.

We seated ourselves in what looked like the family section of the restaurant with many larger tables and even some toys and books for toddlers in one corner. There were many toddlers and babies playing around, so seems quite a family friendly place.

The Food arrived in good time, The Denver omelette was large with 3 eggs with bell peppers, organic onions and organic Monterey Jack cheese. Though the portion size was very filling, I found its lack of any jalapeno peppers and lack of heat, less appetizing.  The Italian Delight omelette   with 3 eggs with organic spinach, goat cheese & sun-dried tomatoes was quite interesting and appealing. The Heavos Rancheros was very hearty and satisfying. It was served with 2 organic corn tortillas topped with organic black beans, roja salsa, 2 sunny side up eggs, shredded organic cheese and organic Pico de Gallo. Though the salsa was not very tasteful and mild, this traditional Mexican breakfast with eggs was one of the best on the menu.  Though the kids pancake with whipped cream topping and sprinkled blueberries looked enticing, the pancake was not very yummy!

But our finale to our brunch was a mocha java which was very steamy, strong and quite a perfect  blend of coffee. The coffee was not only aromatic and tasty, it was creatively remarkable. The coffee art made in our cup was a leaf design.

Besides the great coffee, a major plus point for Java Dive is the location. Located in  Oak Grove Plaza  in Lakeway, its   surrounded by a gynasium, ballet schools, dance schools and  a montessori, making it a convenient place to grab a cup of coffee and smoothie for the kids.
