Overpriced Yummy Treats

On the intersection of 620 and 2222, has started a new mobile cupcake bakery. Every day we drive past this interesting looking cupcake mobile and notice its popularity.  The crowds around this place are increasing by the day, more cars pull up to pick cupcakes, and even picnic tables have been added to accommodate some seating. Finally the curiosity to check up this place piqued and one day we finally made a stop too.

To try out different cupcakes and satisfy our family’s different tastes, each of us picked a different one.   The cup cakes have creative names besides looking very enticing!  24 carrot, ( carrot cake bottom with cream cheese top)  was  delicious and delectable;  Vanilla dream ( vanilla bottom with vanilla top) was fresh and tasteful, but Double Dose (Chocolate bottom with Chocolate top) was strangely not great and my chocolate loving daughter too gave up on it!  The added fresh whipped cream -whipper snapper topping though was the best part of her cupcake.

Hey cupcake offers some exclusive and yummy treats, but they are a little overpriced.  Yes, they may be comparing their prices with Mozarts café or Starbucks, but of course its lacks the  advantage of the coffee shops, where one can  linger while drinking coffee with a muffin or carrot cake and meet up with friends or use wifi and get work done on your laptop over coffee.

Hey cupcake though also offers vegan and eggless varieties and has couple of locations in Austin.  If its cupcake karma is working right, pitching to the Austin market who enjoy exclusivity and uniqueness, it may even work well for them!
