It’s a creamy, nutty flavored delicious sauce made with just few ingredients like sesame seeds, garlic and lemon juice. Used as a dipping sauce for Falafels or used to drizzle on Shawarma, Kabab rolls or Falafel wraps and dip/ chutney for veggies or naan.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup Sesame seeds (whitish colored)
- 3 cloves Garlic
- 1/4 cup fresh Lemon juice
- 1/2 cup Olive oil
- Salt to taste
- 2-4 tblsp Water according to blending consistency
Method:
Make sure when you buy sesame seeds pick the lighter colored sesame seeds which are more whitish. The darker colored seeds sometimes may be bitter for this sauce. I always prefer to keep the lighter colored seeds in my pantry and roast it according to my different recipe needs.
In a food processor or blender coarsely blend together sesame seeds, garlic, and salt with some water. Next add olive oil and blend together till sauce has a creamy smooth consistency. Add lemon juice to thin it further and whip it further. Garnish with parsley or edible flowers and serve with falafels.
