This is just a small little kitchen tool but very useful and efficient. I use my pastry brush in painting an egg wash on a potato cutlet before coating it with bread crumbs; basting spicy oil on the leg of lamb or chicken tandoor; brushing on some garlic butter on bread before toasting it and many similar uses.
Over the years I have had different kind of pastry brushes, but finally the one I own now seems the most efficient. It’s the Le Creuset Silicone Pastry Brush and this innovative and ingenious pastry brush is an excellent kitchen tool for my prep and cooking.
The brush with silicon head is very non abrasive and smooth, the bristles are fine and flexible and do not shed like other brush bristles. The brush is pretty heat resistant and works fine when I am basting something which has been cooking in the oven. And the best part the bristles are nice and clean after washing and can be even washed in the dishwasher. I think it’s a smart tool to have in every kitchen.
Lastly with the silicon bristles on pastry brush, I am more comfortable than the idea of using natural ‘boar’ bristle pastry brush!
