It’s been a few decades since we started turning cooks into stars, and still the phenomenon continues to grow. These days, the Emerils, Marios and Gordons of the world scarcely need the qualifier chef — they are celebrities, plain and simple…..
Reading this article in the time magazine I recollected the past years of seeing the growth and rising popularity of many a food network chef. Julia Child may have been amongst the first who started gaining celebrity status as a culinary instructor on TV, but Food Network made many a culinary instructor and chef gain a celebrity status.Emeril Laggase, Rachel Ray, Paula Deen, Ina Garten, Mario Battali, Bobby Flay, Tyler Florence, Giada De Laurentiis,…… started a fan following, restaurants ,books, product endorsements and more. Emeril Laggasee’s “Bam” or Rachel Ray’s EVOO or Yum-Ohave become popular catch phrases. People not only are fond of their recipes but follow their life’s, read their blogs, read their books and buy their endorsements!
A well deserved status for someone who try to make your life delicious 😉
