Tea cups have held many cups of tea or coffee or even a storm! Now you can recycle your old, stained or cracked tea cups or tea pots creatively too.
Last spring I used my old, cracked or stained crockery for a better purpose instead of just chucking it in the recycling or trash can. I potted some of my succulents and cactus in tea cups and teapots giving the crockery some purpose and the plant an aesthetic and unique home.
Succulents and cacti don’t require a lot of water hence are perfect for planting in small pots.
Another creative recycling tip is with wine bottles!
Wine bottles make beautiful vases and very unique table décor when single flowers are tucked in each bottle and the bottles are clubbed together. You can club together different colors, shapes and sizes and even mismatched bottles as long as it gives a cohesive and beautiful look.
If you are using red large roses, one per bottle is very appealing, but if the buds are small or using white roses or tulips, two per bottle give it more elegance.
If you are like me, a ‘teetotaler’ i.e. doesn’t drink alcoholic beverages, you can ask your friends or neighbors who will spare those fancy shaped and colored bottles for you instead of just putting it in the recycling bin. Wine bottles also are great for water plants or making a bottle tree.
Creative recycling is recycling too;)
