Valentine’s Day is approaching and many a person could be thinking of ideas to sugar their valentines. Tokens of romance and endearing gestures range from roses to chocolates, poetry to jewelry to evening dinner…. But it’s interesting that this idea of Valentine’s Day starts early in elementary schools in USA. The sweet little kids make valentine note cards for all their classmates with a candy or chocolate or even a pencil attached. It’s cute yet disturbing that kids so young are encouraged into this franchise of valentines!
This valentine card trading involves making your valentine mail box and writing valentine cards for all your class mates. There are some who are diligent artists and make their own glitter heart shaped cards for all their friends or some who buy their favorite cartoon figures Valentines like Phineas and Ferb cards or Disney princess cards or super hero cards. Some of this valentines have some cute lines, some have very suggestive messages, so parents sometimes have to do some censoring of their kindergartners’ valentine cards.
This year, if you want to be unique, here’s another way to sweeten the valentine, with sugar donuts! Other day when I picked up a dozen donuts at krispy kreme, I checked if they were offering any valentine deals! I was then given a dozen valentine cards which have redeemable coupon of free donut of its back at krispy kreeme! That’s a smart marketing idea of krispy kreme and at the same time, this could make your child popular with his or her classmates 😉
But why just kids, I would like a box of donuts too 😉
