Sapota Milk Shake
Sapota is another fruit from the tropical fruit species. Belonging to the family of ‘Sapotaceae’ of the genus ‘Manilkara’, Sapota is also known as sapodilla plum, chikoo(hindi), lamut( thai) or zapote( Spanish). Sapota is a delicious fruit, sweet and soft inside with couple of large black seeds and brown sandy skin. Sapota milk shake is an exotic drink which can be made from fresh sapota or even frozen sapota.

Ingredients
  • 2 c sapota - fresh or frozen
  • 4 c milk
  • 4 T sugar ( or to taste)
  • 2 t honey
  • 4 t whipped cream
Instructions
  1. Blend together the sapota ( fresh or frozen), sugar and honey in a blender. Add milk and whip further. Pour in glasses and top with whipped cream and drizzle of honey.
Notes
-When the fruit is unripe, the inside pulp has a sticky latex called saponin , this latex disappears once the fruit ripens. -The milky latex in sapote is the chief source of 'chicle', a main component in the manufacture of chewing gum. -Sapota is rich in vitamins, minerals and antioxidants.
