Summer is the time when one desires a cold refreshing drink, made with many variations. A combination of strawberries, watermelon and lemon juice makes a delicious thirst quencher which is packed with vitamins and antioxidants.
Ingredients:
- Strawberries: 1 ½ cup, Frozen
- Watermelon: 1 ½ cup, Frozen; ½ cup Fresh
- Lemons: 3, juice of lemons extracted
- Mint : 1 tblsp. , chopped
- Honey: 2 tblsp.
- Sugar: 1 tblsp.
Method:
We often store fresh Strawberries, de-stemmed in freezer for using in smoothies. Similarly we also keep chunks of watermelon cut up in ziplock baggies in freezer for watermelon lemonades or slushies. The frozen fruit gives a great texture for slushies and smoothies, but fresh fruit can be substituted too.
In a blender add frozen strawberries, frozen watermelon, some chunks of fresh watermelon, lemon juice, honey, sugar and mint and blend together to puree. Add some ice cubes to make a slushy consistency.
Serve with a mint leaf garnish.
