Mango Lassi – Mango Buttermilk
Mango Lassi is a variation from the Sweet Lassi/Sweet Buttermilk which is a popular drink in Punjab, North India. This drink is very refreshing, and yogurt gives it the cooling effect. This drink is popular in summer since fresh mango, a tropical fruit, is in plenty during this season. This drink is often served with spicy food to accentuate the flavors of sweet and spicy!

Ingredients
- 2 c mango pulp
- 2 c plain yogurt
- 1⁄2 c milk -add more for drinkable consistency
- 1 vanilla ice cream - scoop or more
- 1⁄2 c sugar
- pinch cardamom powder
- 10 ice cubes
- whipped cream (optional)
Instructions
- If you are using fresh mangos, peel the skin and cut the fruit in cubes and set aside the center seed/stone. The fresh mango cubes need to be first blended to pulp.
- If using canned mango pulp, add directly to the blender with the yogurt. According to the size of the juicer or blender, you can add the ingredients in two portions.
- Let the mango and yogurt blend well till the yogurt starts getting buttery. Add sugar, cardamom powder, ice cubes and milk to make it a good drinkable consistency.
- Lastly add the vanilla ice cream and give it one more last spin. Serve in tall glasses cold and top with whip cream if desired.
