We scream for ice cream as soon as we see signs for Brenham on the driving route between Austin and Houston. Brenham is located almost in the middle of the driving route of Austin and Houston.  It’s a small town with a lot of greenery, nurseries, and of course the Blue Bell Ice Cream Factory.  We often stop en route to Houston in Brenham for 30 minutes break to revive ourselves with their unique, seasonal and popular flavors of ice creams offered in the factory. They offer about 20 flavors each time and it’s interesting to try them out here since not all of them are easily available in grocery stores.

Our recent trip we literally revived ourselves with ice cream since we were having a sleepy drive back one afternoon from Houston to Austin and needed some jolt of ice cream.   Each of us tried a different flavor after taste testing  couple of possibilities.  Each large scoop is only a dollar hence great value for money too.

The ‘mocha madness’ Ice cream, caffeinated my spouse for the ride back home.  My ‘southern hospitality’ Ice cream was deliciously refreshing with multiple fruit flavors. My chocolate loving kid loved the ‘double Dutch chocolate’ and my adventurous kid tried the ‘crazy cookie dough’ ice cream flavor.  The crazy cookie dough was sugar candy like with crazy colors and not the tastiest but it was worth a try 😉

We have also been there just to visit and take a tour of Blue Bell factory too.  The tour takes you through the ice cream making process etc, which can be checked out. But I suggest checking the timings for the tours online before you drive all the way to Brenham.

But If Brenham is not in your driving distance, try Blue bell Ice cream’s vanilla flavor anytime.  It is a great tasting ice cream and you can’t go wrong with Bluebell Vanilla. Topped with nuts or chocolate chips or drizzle of honey you have a treat always.
